Advisor Brief

Where we are, and where we're headed.

ReflectsMeeting of Wed 20 May 2026

Status · outcome of 20 May

The meeting moved Mosiq from planning into a concrete, costed build. Three things were settled.

  1. The first build is scoped. A deliberately lean MVP v1 — a bare-bones platform whose only job is to prove the end-to-end workflow works on one real event.
  2. The test event is the proving ground. Frank to verify a potential July event; this becomes the first real run of the workflow, and the film made from it will be 100% from the Creative Director.
  3. The funding approach is set. Self-fund a tight build now, then raise on the strength of the proof and not ahead of it.
Stage · where we sit on capital

Founder-funded, pre-seed.

No outside money in the business today. A small founder-funded build reaches the gate; then we raise in two tranches — each one funding a named step, not survival.

Founder-funded · £25K
Where we are — building MVP v1, the three stages
Pre-seed / angel · £130–150K
After the gate — builds MVP v2: the AI that learns from the Creative Director
Seed · £600K–£1M
Scale — markets, team, the AI pipeline at volume
MVP v1 · built in three stages

One goal for MVP — a working end-to-end product reached in three stages.

Stage 1
Core platform
The end-to-end flow above, working start to finish.
4 weeks · from dev start
  • Manual booking & event setup
  • Guest upload to a real event
  • Metadata / CSV export
  • CD reviews & edits by hand
  • Film delivered to the customer
Stage 2
Brand-quality UI
The interface brought close to the Mosiq brand design; demo-ready.
3 weeks · est.
  • UI aligned to brand identity
  • Polished customer-facing screens
  • Usable as a live demo
Stage 3
Customer-ready
Stripe in; friends-and-family trial runs, toward first paid events.
2 weeks · est.
  • Stripe payments live
  • F&F trial runs
  • Limited paid events, quality-controlled
  • System & APIs ready for testing

About nine weeks end to end, from the day the developer starts — Stages 2 and 3 timings still being firmed up. Why CD review is highlighted: how the Creative Director chooses and rejects clips on this first event is the editorial judgment the future AI is built to learn from.

Phasing · the near-term spine

Phase 0 is active. MVP v1 builds in three stages — about nine weeks end to end.

The gate · proof before the raise

The gate isn’t a date. It’s a package of proof.

One real event cycle has to deliver five things together — enough to pull in bookings and to make the pre-seed raise land.

01
It ran for real
Booked & paid via Stripe, guests uploaded, film delivered — every v1 stage exercised on a live paying job.
02
The film
A finished, multi-perspective cinematic film good enough that the next couple or corporate wants theirs. The proof and the marketing magnet.
03
The CD’s judgment, captured
What the Creative Director kept, cut, and why — documented as the reference the AI will learn from.
04
People paid
Three to five limited paid events beyond the test — “it works” becomes “people pay for it.”
05
Real numbers
Actual cost to produce, price achieved, upload completion, turnaround — the unit economics behind the raise.

The moat: the gate is built human-led on purpose, so the Creative Director’s judgment can be captured. The pre-seed then funds the AI that learns from it — scaling that judgment rather than replacing it. Prove the human-led model, then build the AI that makes it scale.

Roles for the build phase

PersonFocus through MVP v1
FounderBuild oversight, the self-funded envelope, and the path to the raise.
MikeTechnical — portal architecture, freelancer vetting, code review at milestones. Hybrid model: Mike consults, an external freelancer executes.
FrankSources the test event; GDPR / compliance steer. Advice on Nigeria Owambe and diaspora drivers to consider (update to global rollout to follow).
JakeCommercial / GTM — creative direction identity linked to London Soho. This is key to the Mosiq brand identity: human-led AI, a London Soho brand for creative production.
GráinneFounder and investment alignment — capital deployment and founder-draw timing.

Equity grants are deferred to seed close for all advisors. Roles are scoped to the build phase, not capped at it.

The numbers

The shape, in three figures

£25K
Self-funded build envelope. Covers all three MVP v1 stages — kept deliberately tight.
~9 wks
End-to-end MVP v1, from developer start — Stage 1 (core) in the first 4; Stages 2–3 provisional.
£130–150K
Pre-seed / angel — raised at the gate. Funds MVP v2 and the AI that learns from the Creative Director.

The week-by-week build breakdown sits in the phasing doc (separate from this brief).

What we need from you

Two confirmations unblock the build. One question shapes it. Two more sit open for awareness.

  • CriticalFrank — confirm the test-event date. It governs the entire timeline; everything downstream of it floats until it's fixed.
  • CriticalMike — confirm the freelance developer. The build can't start until the developer is locked in.
  • OpenThe CSV's role. Does it import into the CD's edit tool to a set schema, or is it a human-readable reference read alongside the footage? This decides what the developer builds.
  • AwarenessAre we still pursuing Signature-only at launch, or a basic package? Plus founder-draw timing — flagged now, decided nearer the raise.
